Issue: Competitive gamers and people who are only interested in Gaming do not like to pay double Ex: For the convention pass AND Tournament entry
Solution 1 : Get a gaming room badge only
This is the easiest option but harder to get approved by the anime conventions
Solution 2 : Help mold the anime convention so that Gamers can also be interested on the events.
Examples include
Lots of tournaments Video Game Music videos Video Game Panels -How to go pro -Gaming in Japan -Awsome comebacks show -Video game music Discussion -(insert gaming Forum here) Meet ups -Good Games You probably missed panel -Anime Influence in Video games?
Lets discuss this and see what ideas we may get or come up with also im thinking of writing up a survey so Gamers at anime conventions can tell us what they would like to see or what kind ideas they might have.

YES!
I've actually already started to work on this, but you are SO right about con Admin higher-ups not wanting to go with a Gaming Badge.
*sigh*
Sadly, many gamers just don't/can't pay for the con badge ($40+) AND enter into tournaments. A Game badge would solve that problem 100%.
But the extra gaming panels and other stuff geared towards gamers would be a really cool thing to do too. I'll bring it up and push for it whenever I can.
I suggest all gamers (casual or pro) to post and request either Gamer Badges or/and game related programming.
Mr. 1234, email me or call me and we can set-up a game plan to start "lobbing" for these types of changes, cool?

i say first we start with information gathering in both anime conventions and tournaments in this way we can get to know what gamers and anime fans would like as far as gaming panels. we can ask questions such as
Would you go to an anime convention to enter a gaming tournament? Do you enjoy watching good matches between two people on a video game? Do you enjoy watching VG Music Videos? Do video game theme events catch your interest?
im still thinking of some
